Which would you prefer? BBC NEWS | England | Northamptonshire | Staff needed for £2m lakes centre OR BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | Wanted: Paradise island 'caretaker' The second one sounds like paradise doesn't it?
Wish I could get a job !!! lost count of applications I've sent since middle of September. Too old I expect.
the second one is the dream job, just wish I could scuba dive. If i could I'd be going for it. The first one sounds a lovely place. 51, you and me both mate.
Took me over two years to get a job when I was made redundant at 53! That was part time. Just been given a contract for full time.
Congrats Geoff. You got hugged by Kitty! Wonders will never cease. Kitty, getting your scuba ticket is fairly straight forward if you've got a good head on your shoulders. You could probably learn on the job so to speak. The pay for that job is good. It'd be interesting to see what the accomodation for "staff" is like as it's notriously average on those "paradise" islands.
I know the feeling Spidge. I was also made redundant at 53 after 17 years of being their National Distribution Manager. I was told by a headhunter that I would most likely never work again. He was right. I couldn't even get a job as a cleaner. Now I don't have to worry as I am past retirement age
Be careful with the ban me please emo, I'll take you up on it. :> And by the photos I saw in yesterdays paper the accomodation is amazing.
Looks like stiff competition Kitty!! BBC NEWS | World | Asia-Pacific | Massive interest in 'dream job' However it would appear that the job in Northamptonshire is still vacant!!!
Unfortunately the Northants job is for catering and seasonal staff. If it was countryside I'd be down there. Still have got several applications in and applied for a graduate scheme, so here's hoping.
