    Lieutenant 'Polly' Perkins, who has died aged 88, was a motor torpedo boat captain with a reputation for courage, coolness in action and marksmanship.

    Found this list of interviews with coastal forces types on the Coastal Forces Heritage Trust website. "Polly" Perkins gave an 87-minute interview about his experiences.

    Sad ending to MTB 230 - it collided with MTB 222 in November 1943, and both were sunk.

    MTB 683 became RAF LRRC (Long Range Rescue Craft) 30

    MTB 766 became a Sea Cadet craft - I bet they loved having such a historic boat

    I keep reading references of several preserved MTBs but never remember which ones so don't know if I'm reading about the same vessels all the time.

    It'd be great if one could be found in a backwater somewhere having been converted for other use much like the PT in the US recently and that corvette that's still on the Thames, painted white from memory, that Kitty posted about a while back.
