    Excellent story. One of my favourite units but one I know very little about.

    The wrecked truck in the first pic appears to be a Chevrolet of about 1940 (I've had a good look at the mudguards and compared the relevant Chev and Ford models, the Ford has a much more sweeping guard and meets the running board at an angle not almost vertically as in the pic). The model in the second pic is a Ford, probably V8.

    Having said that, the mudguards have the evidence of headlight fittings more akin to the Ford...

    It's a truck - four wheels, headlights, engine, cabin. What more does one need to know?
