    The Fergus Falls Daily Journal - Engen remembered as war hero

    Bud Engen, 79, of Fergus Falls who died Sunday, will be remembered as a Marine who survived what seemed like insurmountable odds during the battle for Okinawa in the South Pacific during World War II.

    Engen, just 17 at the time, was one of only three Marines out of 250 men in E Company who survived the battle. The others were killed or wounded...
