    This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who died during The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread.

    Maurice Hédembaight was born on 3 February 1891 in Auglet.

    Played as a Fly half for: ?

    Profession: House painter

    War service: Sergent, 89ème Regiment d’Infanterie

    He was killed in action on the Marne on 5 August 1918.

    This says he was murdered ... but I believe it means killed ! ...

    I think I see him on these photos ... can you ? :)

    Thanks for the photos. He's easier to spot without a cap! I looks like he's third from the right in the front row of the first photo, and third from the right in the middle row in the second.

    I thought he was last one on the right sitting cross legged in second photo ! :(

    I think that you're probably correct - the man I thought was him looks to be a trifle large to be a scrum half.
