    No6 Sq RIAF/IAF : Operations in Burma as a part of the 2nd Arakan Campaign ~
    * Fly Off J C Verma ~ DFC
    * Sq Ldq Mehar Singh ~ DSO
    * Flt Lt Rawal Singh ~ MBE
    * Srgt B M Kothari ~ British Empire Medal .
    We should remember that they were from the Tac/R group who also engagged in air combat/dogfightings and did their best against well equipped formidable IJAAF's 5th Air Dvn (Hiko Shidan) during the Op Ha-Go, kept the air all clear and provided the best air cover which was there badly needed by the 14th Army.
    They engaged because of the Operational Directive No9, in '43, and probably the first time in military history that any Tac/R Pilots engaged in aerial fighting!
