    Oh wow, that is wonderful.

The flights to Russia by the torpedo squadrons have featured in a couple of Australian books recently (owing to 455 Sqn's involvement).

Jack Davenport, Beaufighter Leader by Kristen Alexander, and
The RAAF in Russia by Geoffrey Raebel

I have both books in my collection and recently read the former - which is very well written (highly recommend it to you, Annie) - but have yet to read the Raebel book. I recall some comment re losses encountered by the Hampdens on the way to Russia so will see if there's any reference to P1344.
