Gareth Cain, Michael James played for New Zealand Internationals: 4 : 1913 US+ ; 1914 A+ A+ A+ Michael Cain was born on 7 July 1885, in Waitara Played as a Hooker for: Clifton, Taranaki, Combined Services, North Island Profession: Freezing company employee War service: 9/1016 Trooper, Otago Mounted Rifles, New Zealand Mounted Rifles Brigade, Australian and New Zealand Mounted Division Remarks: Took up Rugby when aged 21 after going on as a replacement player for Clifton RFC in a match in Taranaki. NZ tours to North America in 1913, and to Australia in 1914. Played for Combined Services in the King’s Cup in 1919. He toured South Africa with the NZ Army team in 1919. He played 24 matches for the All Blacks, including 4 Internationals. He died on 27 August 1951, in New Plymouth
