As an aside to this thread..... We have just held a Worcester, Conway. Pangbourne reunion here in Christchurch New Zealand and as a guest to propose the Toast to Ladies, Guests and Absent friends we had Cmdr. Bill Smith RNZN Retd. He was part of the crew of the midget submarine which sank the Japanese cruiser in Singapore. He gained his place through the deaths of two crew members of other midgets who had been picked to crew the sub in the attack..... one of who would be these.!!! Remarkable "Young man" ... 93 I think!!
