The rations include small beer, which was watered down beer! 46. — Warn the proprietors of billets of the quantity of forage and provisions required and the hour the men's dinners are to be ready, inspect the forage, see it is as good in quality as that usually supplied in barracks, and that there is the proper amount of it : — 10 Ibs. oats 12 Ibs. hay \ per horse per day. 8Ibs. straw) . The rations for the men are — 1 ¼ lbs meat. 1 ½ lbs bread. 1 Ibs potatoes. 2 pints of small beer. Water, salt, pepper and vinegar.
