The Cold War is gone, but nuclear weapons are not. Nuclear non-proliferation is a major goal of world powers- see Iran and North Korea, but some states are still obtaining nuclear weapons- see N. Korea and Israel.
It's not exactly fair for only some states to be allowed access to nuclear weapons, but it's an extremely terrible idea to just let everyone play around with nukes. To what extent should major countries pursue nuclear non-proliferation, and what conflict could happen given the current state of nuclear weapons deployment?

To me the main threat of nuclear conflict is Iran. They would I feel be prepared to use them against Israel, but their main reason for pursuing these weapons is a means of stopping a US non- nuclear attack on themselves. A nuclear armed Iran is a major threat to world peace.
