:frusty: BBC NEWS | UK | Drink campaign to target parents BBC NEWS | Health | Cigarette machines may be banned What next? Banning bacon because it causes obesity? Banning lentils because the consequences are deemed anti-social? Aaaarrrrggghhh
>>> its funny about targetting the parents, both my parents, never touched a drop in their lives, but my father smoked until his death and my mother gave up near the end of her life, but the five brothers started drinking, but the eldest two still drink to any extent, but none smoked! As for banning their display, I am in total agreement with that. its funny how, with it being banned in building etc, I seem to notice it more when walking down the street with people smoking outside!
From the article. "Under current pricing, a packet of 10 cigarettes cost about £3, compared to nearly £6 for 20." I don't understand how people can afford to smoke in the U.K. with prices like that. Weed doesn't even cost that much here. A pack of 20 Marlboro Lights cost me about $3.80 depending where I purchase them. As far as drinking. Unfortunately I feel there is a drink culture amongst British youth. One of my other passions is football and in another forum I frequent I find that the youth there have no other interests in life than football and getting "hammered." Not trying to be "holy-er than tho," I certainly have no room to talk but its an observation.
