Hi All, A bit off-topic here. I just had a break from the books and watched a DVD that I'd been meaning to get for ages. It's not about WWII, but civil aviation. Taken from an historic perspective, it features great interviews with old aviators and great footage of everything from Cubs to Mitchells and Mustangs. Titled "One Six Right", if you ever get the chance to see it, it's well worthwhile. One Six Right: The Romance of Flying :: A High Definition (HD) Aviation Documentary Film about General Aviation and the Passion and Romance of Flying starring the World's Busiest GA Airport: Southern California's Van Nuys Airport Cheers Owen
Ever so slightly wonderful, Owen. Thanks for bringing it to my attention. The line up of Cosmic Winds in the archive pics is awesome! Amazed to see the then and now pics of the airport. Have always read about Van Nuys but never actually seen it. And oh, the biplane shots!
Hi Andy, Yes, I would have been to Los Angeles 20 times at least in the last 12 months and could never get the planets aligned to visit Van Nuys. A big regret, but I'll be back and do it one day. As I said it's a great DVD and soundtrack. Cheers Owen
Never really been one for civil aircraft but the DVD looks like something I would enjoy. OK, nerdy time :becky: The aircraft infront of the Timm hanger is a Timm N2T Tutor, but which varient is it? The engine doesn't look like the standard N2T-1 Navy Trainer.
