Hi All, I Know Kitty has little regard for Macclesfield, but, this is how we treat our returning local lads of our local regiment. Three Cheers For Them. Keith
Think the Staffs are marching through Biddulph on Thursday. And come on, Bear Town has never ever got along with Silk Town.
Hi Kitty, Having served in the N.Staffs in Burslem, The South Staffs in Walsall, The Mercians at Litchfield, The the beginnings of the Staffordshire Regt, with the T.A. back at the drill hall in Burslem, therefore I was probably one of the first to serve in that regiment. Then transferring to the R.A.M.C. in the Burslem drill hall, then opening a unit in Macclesfield. Later in life becoming a Cheshire in Macclesfield, I know what you mean, I'm proud to have been involved with them all. I even tried re-opening a T.A. unit in the Leisure Centre in Grumbly Old Bear Town. As a small point of interest the unit I had in Macclesfield had half its men from from Congleton. Contrary to what you believe we knitted together perfectly into a very good and efficient unit. Re my posting about when we won the T.A. Challenge Shield for the best unit in the T.A. Medical Services. Cheers Keith
