I believe the graves were removed ..... but I can't find out where they were moved to ..... I'm trying to figure out the French soldiers died site ....
The 4th Zouaves were at Verdun and Verdun was February to December 1916 Paul died 31st May 1916 ........ so how could he die of wounds in Germany - unless he was taken prisoner ? Duh .... I just reread your first post Gareth and saw you said he was a POW !! I found some pictures of 4th Zouaves .... and I got all excited to see one of the class of 1907 ... till I realised Paul was the class of 1908 !!!! ...... but I'll post them anyways ... because they are cool to look at ! http://www.postcardman.net/army_french_col_zouaves.html
