A colleague of mine is writing an updated history of Penarth Rugby Club. Among the war dead from WW1 is Major John Angel Gibbs. He was the brother of the great Cardiff, Wales and Lions wing Reggie Gibbs. he was mentioned in despartches and awarded the DSO. Does anyone know anything about his DSO. He was in the 9th Battalion of the Welch Regiment serving in France and was killed on the Somme on 20/09/17, aged 37. Any help gratefully received.
