When I was serving my apprenticeship, I worked at Stutton Hall, in the late sixties. while it was being refurbished, installing the new plumbing. I did not realise the Honourable Peter Strutt was that old, time seems to fly by. Sir Clavering Fison still owned it then but was having the works done before handing it over to his Daughter, Peter's wife. The old boy(Fison) would always turn up on site at tea break, to scrounge a cuppa, then drive his old Land Rover to the post office to get his pension. Had a good party at Stutton hall when the job was finished, all Tolly Cobbold beer of course.
