When I post a picture here it appears as an "attached thumbnail" but I note others post pictures that are larger in size. How do I make my posted pictures larger?
Ferhilt has given most of the information but I should add that the pictures cannot be attached in that format directly from your PC. You must use a photo stotage site like photobucket.com Once you have opened an account and uploaded a picture (almost exactly like you would here) you will see your picture as a thumbnail on their site, with a number of options above it. Click on Share. This will bring up a message box page with the picture. Next Right Click on the picture and click View image in the little pop up that appears. The picture will become bigger and will be in a page on its own. Copy that URL and follow Ferhilt's instructions.
Nice photo... are they crane lifting that onto the ship, or is that a flyover? It looks like there is a cable and lift strap on it.
It's a Spitfire being lifted into the U.S.S. Wasp, in Liverpool 1942. The Wasp was shipping the aircraft to Malta. The photo was taken by the actor Douglas Fairbanks Jr. More information can be found here. Display p.s. Hopefully you guys have sorted out my photo posting problems. Thanks.
If you need to use a photo hosting service you can use my WWII images library for free if you like: World War II History Photo Gallery You can add descriptions, labels, and categories to the photos as well. I'm still in the process of adding my own to it. Goes for anyone here, just thought I would offer
That is a great photo, and great album. David, this will probably get lost on this thread. How about starting a new thread on War in the Air forum? Shame the last number on the serial can't be seen - all the BP97X series were shipped to Malta, so it's impossible to say what happened to this one.
