Pierre Guilleman : Rugby Player

    This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who died during The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread.

    Guilleman, Pierre played for France

    Internationals: 11 : 1908 E- W- ; 1909 E- I- ; 1010 W- S- E- I- (1t) ; 1911 S+ E- W-

    Pierre Guilleman was born on 14 November 1894 in Brougils

    Played as a Forward for: Racing Club de France

    War service: Soldat, 23ème Regiment d’Infanterie

    He was killed in action on 9 October 1915 in Champagne.

    Just as an aside ... I don't think the above is right !! I found Marcel Legrain and they didn't die at the same time - though they did die within a month of each other ! but all the dates I have here - are also in question .... frustrating isn't it ??

    Marcel Legrain french rugby XV, born 14 June 1890 at Paris and died on 27 June 1915 at Neuville St. Vaast on the front of the First World War

    Pierre Guillemin french rugby XV, born 13 September 1887 to Bonneveau and died on 18 August 1915 at Belleville-sur-Meuse
