I know you know this guy but I was really interested in his headstone !

The grave's headstone with the Hindi, English and French inscriptions. It is very rare to find a Hindu headstone almost without exception in any CWGC Cemetary, This was because all Indian soldiers of Hindu and Sikh faith who were killed-in-action were cremated and the names commemorated on a memorial.

I believe that after he crashed he was buried by the locals first, who probably didn't know that Hindus are cremated, and that the CWGC decided to leave the internment and place an appropriate headstone. As his parents were believers in a Hindu mystic/spiritualist with non-mainstream Hindu ideas, they may have given permission for this to occur.
