    This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who served in, and survived, The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread.

    King, Quentin Eric Moffit Ayres (‘Quemma’) played for England

    Internationals: 1 : 1921 S+ (1t)

    Quentin King was born on 8 July 1895, in Bedford

    Played as a Wing for: St Edward’s School Oxford, Blackheath, The Army, Barbarians

    Profession: The Army

    War service: Major, Royal Field Artillery

    Remarks: Played for Barbarians: v Leicester (5-3) v Cardiff (5-6) v Swansea 9-17 in 1914; v Leicester (6-8) in 1920; v Penarth (10-10) in 1921.

    He died on 30 October 1954

    Thank you for that. I read the Theatre of War as "Mespot" so we know where he served.
