Gareth Cattell, Richard Henry Burdon played for England Internationals: 7 : 1895 W+ I+ S- ; 1896 W+ (2t) I- S- ; 1900 W- Richard Cattell was born on 23 March 1871, in Erdington, Birmingham Played as a Half-back for: Trinity College Stratford-on-Avon, Oxford University (Blue 1893), Blackheath, Moseley, Barbarians, Midland Counties Profession: Clergyman; perpetual curate at St Michael and All Angels, Sunnyside with St Johns. War service: Chaplain to the Armed Forces (4th Class). Remarks: Played for Barbarians: v Cardiff (3-14), v Newport (0-19) in 1893; v Hartlepool Rovers (8-8) v South Shields (27-5) in 1895; v West of England XV (0-0) v Newport (0-16) in 1896, v Stade Français 1899 (33-0); and v Le Havre (41-3) in 1900. He was ordained in 1897. He switched to football in 1898, and played for Welwyn Association Football Club (AFC) and Tring AFC until 1906. He died on 19 July 1948
