Gareth Burgess, Robert Balderstone played for Ireland Internationals: 1 : 1912 SA- Robert Burgess was born on 25 December 1890, “a native of Kingstown, Co Dublin, Ireland” the son of Henry and Agnes Burgess. Played as a Forward for: Portora Royal School, Trinity College Dublin, Dublin University, Barbarians Profession: Irish Bar Remarks: Played for Barbarians: v Newport (0-4) in 1913. War service: Captain, Royal Engineers. He was killed in action on 9 December 1915, at Armentières, and is buried in Ballieul Communal Cemetery, Nord, France [II. B. 63].
