I miss playing D&D. Haven't had a game in about ten years.

I was at school when the D&D craze hit and almost everyone I knew was so utterly obsessed with it that the school ended up banning it during school hours because students were spending all their class time secretly drawing characters, filling out the forms and whatever else they could get away with without getting caught.

I wasn't a D&D fan but it did spawn all sorts of other role-playing games and one I occassionally played was set in the near-future world - one had to play soldiers, mercenaries etc, with guns, tanks, jeeps etc. Just can't remember what it was called.

Sounds like World of Warcraft to me. Aaaaaaaaaaah the delights of role play, now also expanded into CCG such as Magic the Gathering etc, and the ultimate being LARP :>

Never played any role-playing games. D&D was one of the crazes when I was at school but never got into it. My thing was building models.
