Oh dear Adrian, that was terrible :becky: I have been rather bemused by the Russian's actions and their claims about protecting the Ossetian independence - pity they can't proffer the same sort of humanitarianism to Chechnya..... ...oh I forgot, Chechnya is trying to break away from Russia
Ooh cynicism. I feel at home. So Russia has unofficially officially invaded. Georgia is looking for help and receiving precisely zip from UN/NATO, to whom it has given help in Iraq. Even Bush is just telling Russia to stop being a naughty boy. oh dear.
And so much for the Russian's claim that they are protecting a breakaway state. They have just invaded Georgia proper. And have continually refused ceasefire calls.... ...but then again who's really going to stop them. The US? I think they aren't exactly in the position call anyone else aggressive.
Europe buys its gas from Russia, and my gas bill is high enough already. Maybe we'll have to invade Russia after all. We sorted out Iraq easily enough. Good thing we weren't economically dependent on Germany when they invaded Poland. I'm afraid I can feel some of the Vichy spirit coming on rather than the Dunkirk spirit. What are we going to do if they start murdering Jews - or invading Israel?
