Does anyone like sports? I like NFL and in the nfl I like " Pittsburgh Steelers" and the " Philidelphia Eagles, and there both in the playoffs this year!! And in MLB I loike the Boston Red Sox. And in Nascar I like " Carl Edwards" and " Jeff Gordon. Do any of you like sports.? please post if you do.
With a sports mad husband, son and grandsons I have been forced to accept their part in my life too. I have to confess that I do now enjoy rugby (union mostly), men's tennis (can't stand the women grunting!) and F1. I still cannot stand cricket or golf and got totally bored with the antics of professional footballers (the spitting really irritates me - they could do with a good slap).
I suspect that your difficulty lies in being interested in US sports that don't really rate in the rest of the world. Rugby is an international code of football where the USA is reasonably competitive (I've seen the Eagles play here in Australia several times over the past 30 years) but I don't think that the code has a high profile in their home country. More's the pity. Gareth
I'm with you on the NASCAR War Hawk, but since they took it off freebie TV in the UK, I don't keep up with it. Add motorbike racing and Australian V8 and that's the limit of my interest in sport. Next topic. Phil
Hi Dolphin, But therte is some Americans on this website, and there is more on ww2 chat. com, and I made the thread on there too.
I'm a definite rugby girl...union, not the girl's game!! Northampton Saints for me all the way! I kind of understand it...apart from some of the offside bits. This is why I go to matches with a friend who knows...I just shout the things he does!!
WRC, flat and steeplechase, 3 Day Eventing, mountain bikes when i catch it and some snow sports for the general massacres. Beyond that I find sport rather tiresome. Football is too prima donnerish these days.
Is anyone watching the Superbowl on Sunday. HERE WE GO STEELERS HERE WE GO.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Edit....... The Steelers won!!!!.
