It's even more worrying that they have waited this long to award him the medal, and then decide to do so when they must have known about the allegations. Maybe they would argue that his achievements and alleged crimes are unconnected. It is analogous to the argument about whether Chris Langham should have still got his BAFTA when he was accused of child pornography. But, I think genocide of 900 children is even more serious than that.
I just don't know how these monsters sleep at night. One hopes that he is haunted every night!!! Does he feel that his later work mitigated his former deeds? How does a family reconcile itself to the allegations?
