Can anybody fill in more details about the war serivce and POW experience of this Welsh soccer international.

    Sydney Darvell
    Born: Wrexham, 17 May, 1874
Died: Kencot, Oxfordshire, 22 June, 1944

He was the son of a wealthy clergyman who lived in some style in Gresford, near Wrexham. He had a governess and the house was full of servants. He went to Charterhouse School and then on to Keble College, Oxford. He didn’t play in the Varsity match, but came to the attention of the Welsh selectors when playing for Old Carthusians in their run in the FA Amateur Cup in 1897, when they took the title.
He won his two caps for Wales against Ireland and Scotland in 1897 playing as a wing half. He also played for Gresford and the Corinthians.
After leaving Oxford he taught at Tonbridge School and then Holdersham House, in Broadstairs. In 1900 he became a private tutor.
In WW! He served as a captain in the Denbighshire Hussars, attached to the Royal Welch Fusiliers. He spent some time during the war in a German POW camp.
