This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who died during The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread. This man is something of a mystery. Gareth Varvier, Theódore played for France Internationals: 6 : 1906 E- ; 1909 E- W- ; 1911 E- W- ; 1912 I- Theódore Varvier was born on 29 April 1884 in Lyon Played as a Fly half for: Racing Club de France Some reference books indicate that he was killed in action during the 1914-1918 War, but his name doesn’t appear in the French casualty records. The Scrum.com website indicates that he died in 1913.

Heres a couple of snippets .... * Club - U.S. Metro * He had his first test match on 22 March 1906 against the team of England. His last test match was against the team from Ireland on 1 January 1912.
