Gareth Nelson, Thomas Arthur played for Scotland Internationals: 1 : 1898 E= Thomas Nelson was born on 1876, in St Leonards, Edinburgh, son of Thomas and Jessie Kemp Nelson; later husband of Margaret Balfour Melson Maze of Achnacloich, Connel, Argyll. Played as a Centre for: Edinburgh Academy, Oxford University (Blue 1897-1898), Barbarians (he may have been a Barbarians member, who didn’t play for the club. Profession: Publisher War service: Captain, 1st Lothians and Border Horse, attached Machine Gun Corps; Mentioned in Despatches 3 times. He was killed in action on 9 April 1917, at Arras, and is buried in Faubourg d’Amiens Cemetery, Pas de Calais, France [Grave VII. G. 26.].
