Nice one Owen. Well, apart from the biplane (serial F..something) I recognised all the others so feel rather smug.

    Cheers

    Well done Kyt!

The biplane is an SE5a photographed at Old Warden.

    Cheers,

    Great photos!

The Hind was presumably at Old Warden as well; I don't think it ventures far from there.

Some of these shots must be fairly old; I remember the Spitfire XIV in silver with the red flash but it must have been some time ago?

What is the interior shot? An elderly aircraft, with three throttles - Lufthansa's JU52 I presume, or possibly a Ford Trimotor?

Blast...would shake my fist defiantly if I hadn't spent all my effort thumbing my nose!

Now I think about it those controls in a Dornier would be above the head...assuming they were of similar layout to the Catalina. Is that how the Cat was - dodgy memory at the moment.

    Damn you Monday!

    No mate,

    She's the real deal.

It was a very significant day for me to get up close and personal with Smithy's aircraft.

    Cheers

If ever there was a place for Smithy's ghost to hang out...

Ok, I have now wiped the smug look off my face......the cockpits look so similar I just passed over it. :peep:

Southern Cross is a Fokker Trimotor not a Ford - am I right?
