    Moll, Tobias Mortimer (‘Toby’) played for South Africa

    Tobias Moll was born on 20 July 1890, son of Tobias and Henrietta Moll of Welbeloond Farm, Potsdam, Cape Province, South Africa.

    Played as a Prop for: South Africa College, Cape Colony, Transvaal

    Profession: Bank employee

    War service: 2nd Lieutenant, 9th Battalion, Leicestershire Regiment, 110th Brigade, 37th Division. In July 1916, the 110th Brigade was attached as Army troops to the 23rd Division.

    He died of wounds on 14 July 1916, and is buried in Mericourt-L’Abbe Communal Cemetery Extension, Somme, France [Grave II. D. 5.].

    Its a link to the War Office - Officers Personal Records - Series. This will be a file with all his records from joining to death. All of the internationals who served as Officers will have their own file. They are best read for free during a visit to Kew. Sometimes the content can be very scant so don't buy without being sure what you are getting.
