It was this date (June 22) in 1940 that the Nazis opened Auschwitz for the first... what do we call them? Victims? Prisoners? Every one of the first people to arrive at this camp were political prisoners. We all know that it wasn't long before the only reason they needed to bring millions to these camps was simply having been born Jewish or even having a Jewish ancestor. It's also Flag Day, and since I didn't see a forum section that would have "fit" for me to say this, I'll tack it on here. I'm proud of my flag, proud to be an American, and so very proud of all who fought to give me that gift. Thank you.
