If this wreck is indeed U40, then it was torpedoed by HMS C24, which was being towed underwater by a decoy trawler. The position given in this link does put the wreck as being off Aberdeen. U 40 - U-boats of World War One - uboat.net Did you see the enormous lobster in the video?
