I'm not quite sure if I can manage a swing-around to Sharpsburg (Antietam) next month while traveling or not... but I hope so! They have some events planned that sound interesting as we all pull out of a long cold winter.

On the 19th (a Saturday) there's a hike planned on the field to commemorate St. Patrick's Day. The hike will be at the area of the Sunken Road where the Irish Brigade was heavily involved. It won't be an easy hike... it's only slightly more than a mile in distance, but it's not the best ground to hike over. Should be about two hours until the group returns. 1:00 in the afternoon... meeting behind the New York Monument.

The next day's hike will be The Cornfield... group is meeting near the #2 tour stop. Also 1:00 in the afternoon... also about two hours in length. This one's a bit longer at about two miles.

Other hikes in March include a repeat of The Cornfield hike (different meeting place, you'll need to look it up, not sure at this point myself) on the 26th, and hiking the West Woods on the 27th. Both around two hours and starting at 1 p.m.
