    McNamara, Vincent played for Ireland

    Internationals: 3 : 1914 E- S+ (1t) W-

    Vincent McNamara was born on 11 April 1891, in Blackrock, Co Cork, son of Patrick Joseph and Margaret McNamara (nee O’Connell) of Blackrock, Co Cork.

    Played as a Scrum half for: Patrician Brothers’ College Cork, Christian Brothers’ College Cork, University College Cork, Munster

    Profession: Engineering student

    War service: 2nd Lieutenant, 136th Fortress Company, Royal Engineers.

    He was killed in action on 29 November 1915, at Gallipoli, and is commemorated on Lancashire Landing Memorial, Turkey [Panel L. 9].

    Son of Patrick Joseph and Margaret McNamara (nee O'Connell), of "Analore," Castle Rd., Blackrock, Cork. Born at Blackrock, Cork. Graduate of the Engineering School of Cork University College, and an International Footballer.
