This is one of a series of posts to mark the international Rugby players who served in, and survived, The Great War. If anyone has further information on the men concerned, I’d be most grateful if it could be added to the thread. Drummoyne RUFC "The Dirty Reds" (a nicknamed based on their one-time maroon jerseys, rather than tactics employed on the field) now play in the NSWRU's Suburban Competition. They're probably Australia's leading amateur Rugby Club. The club was originally formed in 1919 as Glebe-Balmain RUFC by players from the old Balmain and Glebe Rugby Clubs who wished to continue playing Rugby after most of their club-mates opted to join the newly-formed Glebe and Balmain Rugby League clubs in 1909. The name changed to Drummoyne District RUFC in 1930. Gareth
