Have come across this in a surplus store and was wondering if anybody could pinpoint if it is a world war 1 gas mask canister like we are possibly thinking. this is the only picture i have at the minute but can get a better one tommorow, it has the clip on the underside of the lid for holding spare glasses, any help is appreciated.
