Aha, the poppies have just appeared! Excellent, Lee! I'd almost like that, or a version of that (or even an inclusion of that pic somewhere) as the new header!
Do you mean in the header Spidge? You may need to clean out your cache. If for the lapel - I wonder if Kitty posts one tomorrow it would get to you in time (she'll be standing on street corners tomorrow - nothing new there then eep :>
Don't know a thing about website design and could hardly be called creative, but would it be possible and would it fit aspirations, if the poppies were to gradually fade into the the Header text? The poppy is one of my favourite flowers. It is truly beautiful, simple and elegant and to me it epitomises everything about the war (s) in a single symbol, from the tragic loss to the birth of future generations. Hope you both can see them down there now! Regards CTNana
spidge it may help if you force your browser to collect the latest files off the server from the homepage press and hold [CTRL] and press [F4] this will force it to do just that.
Spidgeman, after seeing Kytman's post about drawing an arrow to point out the poppies, I was left wondering what he was smoking cos I still couldn't see them. Several hours later, in coming back to the site (hadn't logged off), I refreshed to see if any new posts were up and the poppies appeared. I loves them! Managed to get some great poppy shots in Gallipoli, CT. Will dig them out. How about we start a poppy thread?
Aha! Three refreshes later and I have poppies! And yes, 4 hours out in freezing temps was something to behold for the poppy appeal. And the worst offenders for doing a full detour around me? The war baby generation.
Most common excuse was "I've already got one but its on my other coat". I think the really old dears were feeling guilty as they probably couldn't afford to donate a few pence thanks to the abysmal pensions in this country. Those I can forgive. But not those who obviously had money.
Lots of old gents out today but not where I drop Jodi off at work in the morning so we parked the car and walked to the nearest one. Not much effort considering what they did for us.
