Here are the personnel needed to support a Lancaster

    In most cases these people may not have "left the ground" however without them most flight crews would not have got off the ground. They were always there to get the crews out of damaged aircraft when they returned and would have seen the most horrific deaths and injuries from on board fires, flak and cannon fire.

    You will recall that in Apri I posted at the start of this thread, the picture of all the personnel required to keep a Lanc in the air. Searching around “British Movie Tone” I found a newsreel clipping about the same. It can be accessed by going to MovieTone : Index (you have to register) and entering “Lancaster Maintenance” in the "Search Archive Now" box. I’m afraid I do not have the knowledge to “lift” it and post it on a website.
